Pheasantry Brewery Wedding.

Emma and Josh where married at Pheasantry Brewery on 27 May on a beautiful sunny day. It was my first wedding at Pheasantry Brewery its always great to shoot at a new venue and this one did not disappoint. Set in East Markham which is a short drive from Lincoln Pheasantry Brewery can comfortably accommodate up to 120 guests. It is located in the middle of beautiful countryside and surrounded by farmers fields as far as you can see, this rustic barn venue ticks all the right boxes for a chilled out and relaxed wedding venue so it was the ideal setting for Emma & Josh who described their wedding vibe as relaxed but elegant. They wanted their wedding to be a fun and enjoyable day for themselves and their guests with very little in teh way of formalities, they certainly achieved that.

Bridal Preparation.

The day day started at Emmas parents house where I was greeted by very excited parents and bridesmaids; Leah, Pippa, Maria and Caitlin.

 

After the bridal preparation photos and portraits of Emma looking lovely it was time to shoot the grand reveal image with Emma's dad. I love shooting this mage at all my weddings but this one in particular really is one of my favourite images. I was fortunate enough to position Emma just under a skylight in the ceiling and when her dad Michael gave Emma a big hug his face was turned into the light, just beautiful. This image has everything I love about wedding photography; drama, emotion, pure joy and happiness, its beautifully lit and really well composed and I do love this in black and white. I asked Emma what her favourite images from the day where and this is one of them, its one of my favourites too.

Ceremony at Pheasantry Brewery.

As it was such a beautiful day the ceremony was held outside so after a few quick portraits of a slightly nervous Josh it was tiem to wait for Emma's arrival.

Emma walked down the aisle to "I cant help falling in love with you" by Haley Rienhart, sorry Emma I much prefer the original version by Elvis, but its a beautiful song.

 

"Wise men say only fools rush in
But I can't help falling in love with you."

 

After the ceremony it was time for confetti, a few quick family photos and then some gorgeous images of bride and groom with their vintage wedding car.

I asked Emma and Josh what was important to them in terms of photography on the day. Emma replied that she wanted lots of natural photos of all guests enjoying the day, a few family photos and some of the beautiful scenery around Pheasantry Brewery. When you have things such as tug of war, space hoppers, and various other forms of outdoor entertainment its easy for me as a photographer to fulfil that brief. There was so much going off there was always something great to photograph.

It was also very funny for me to realise that I had met some of the guests many years ago when I used to work as a supply teacher at Trent Vally Academy in Gainsborough, but the less said about that the better.

Golden Hour.

Golden hour is such a beautiful time to shoot at the end of a hot summer day. The light becomes so soft and flattering and it so much easier to shoot in this light than the harsh and bright light during the day. I took this opportunity to take Emma and Josh into the surrounding fields so we could produce some more lovely images. These images are also some of Emma's favourite images from the day, they are lovely.

We also took the opportunity to get the his n hers Land Rover Defenders out which obviously mean so much to Josh and Emma.

 

Evening Fun.

All that was left now was for cake cutting and first dance which was to "Cant take my eyes off you" by Frankie Valli and then the evening was played out by their band Origin who played a great set of modern classics including "Yellow" by Coldplay and "Five colours in her hair" by McFly.

"You're just too good to be true Can't take my eyes off of you You'd be like Heaven to touch I wanna hold you so much."

 

So that was my first wedding at Pheasantry Brewery, a great venue and I was very happy to take another booking for there next August recently. I cant wait to shoot there again so if you are planning a wedding at this lovely venue I would love to hear from you.
