Weddings at Swancar Farm.

Its been a good few years since I shot a wedding at Swancar farm https://www.swancarfarmcountryhouse.com/ and I had forgotten about how much I love shooting at this lovely venue. I was therefore very much looking forward to shooting Chris and Liz's wedding there in April. Swancar farm is an exclusive wedding venue with 11 bedrooms set in secluded and picturesque countryside which always makes for beautiful photography. I also love the long and sweeping drive that leads to the venue, it gives me those dramatic leading lines that are always important in teh composition of photography.

Every wedding I have shot at Swancar going back to my first one there back in 2016 has been the highest quality and I am looking forward to shooting there again in the autumn.

So let's look at some of my favourite images I have produced at this very lovely wedding venue.

Bridal Suite.

Virtually all my weddings will start with bridal preparation and the bridal suite at Swancar offers plenty of space with lots of natural light, perfect for bridal portraits. It is also the location of probably one of my favourite bride squad reactions to seeing the bride and its an image I still use regularly in my marketing.

The Ceremony Room.

Ceremonies at Swancar Farm take place upstairs and again the light in here is good. Quite often though I have to use a high ISO which does result in a bit of grain in the images, but once these have been put into black and white, which I prefer for ceremony shots anyway, it adds to the documentary and reportage feel that I like so much for a lot of my wedding photography.

Bride & Groom Portraits.

Swancar Farm is blessed with surrounding fields which are always dream location for photographers. I love taking my bride and groom into these areas for couples portraits and I always aim to get creative and imaginative with my lighting and composition to produce dramatic and beautiful photography.

The Birdcage.

The birdcage is a really striking feature of Swancar Farm and I love to shoot couple portraits in this structure at night time. I use a portable studio flash unit which allows me to shoot creatively when it is dark, I love the feel of these images and it creates beautiful silhouettes, just lovely.
